The patron saint of all Labors

Saint Joseph was never afraid to go and live in any place that God directed him to, because he had confidence in his work and the assurance that God pours blessings into the life of one who labors. Through the sweat of his toil, he was eager to provide for the Mother of God and the Son of God, and to pass on to Jesus the beauty of hard work.

Any work done with pride and love has a divine vitality. The sweat that falls carries the fragrance of holiness.


Prayer to Saint Joseph for Employment

Loving Saint Joseph,
you once took upon yourself the responsibility of providing for Jesus and Mary.

In my anxiety to move forward in life,
look upon me with the compassion of the Father.
Help me to find suitable employment,
so that this burden of worry may be lifted from my heart,
and I may be able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to my care.

Help me to endure bitter moments and discouragement,
so that I may come through this trial spiritually enriched
and with greater blessings from God.

Amen.
